Executive Director Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 The director must:

  •  Work with the Harrison County Child Abuse Task Force Steering Committee to develop, implement and monitor program goals, direction, procedures and delivery of services to at-risk children and families in Harrison County.

  • Develop and secure ongoing funding to assure program stability and growth.

  •  Provide services to at-risk children and families or caregivers as assigned by the Steering Committee, which includes the arrangement and facilitation of treatment multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Develop and maintain interagency multidisciplinary cooperation, including the development and implementation of a written protocol for the operation of the Harrison County Child Advocacy Center.

  • Provide community education programs for professionals and the public to enhance understanding and support of the Harrison County Child Advocacy Center.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulatory standards and requirements to ensure program compliance with those standards.

  • Continue to refine, update and maintain professional skills and knowledge by attendance at conferences, workshops and seminars.

  • Perform other related duties and provide services as assigned by the Harrison County Child Abuse Task Force, Inc. to implement other programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The director must have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a discipline that is closely related to the work.  An advanced degree is preferred.

  • Training in or the capability to use Microsoft Word and other computer software that generates data bases and reports. 

  • Experience in program management and development, report generation, facilitation and community organizing.

  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills that include knowledge of writing grants, speeches, articles for publication, responses to common inquiries or complaints from the consumers.  An ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with the Board of Directors and members of the legislature, judiciary, governmental agencies, business and like professionals in the community.
